Well here we are, the night before the big trip of 2007. The bike is all packed, gps loaded and mounted so I have a few spare minutes to type this. This morning I signed Diek up to be the camera photographer for the trip since I don't have a camera phone. He will take a picture or two each day and upload them here, and then each night I will try and post about that day. So you ask where are we heading, we are leaving Grand Rapids, Michigan and heading across Canada to New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine before heading back home.
Today we had massive thunderstorms and rain as the cold front push thru, this should be good since it looks like the dew point is going to stay low and the temps will hover in the high 70's low 80's for most of the trip, perfect riding weather. Last weekend we all gathered at the Double D Ranch to check the bikes over good and tighten any loose fasteners, I think we are in great shape bike wise. Really not sure what else to report on except stay tuned for the rest of the adventure.
Is it time to depart yet....

What was I thinking?
It was a windy, snowy, raw kind of day and I really didn't want to leave the house but earlier in the week I told a good friend I would help him sell raffle tickets at the Bike Show downtown. I gave up on going to these types of bike shows a long time ago because they just don't interest me, they only have all stock bikes from the local dealerships set up to look at, nothing different from their showrooms. Even with this said I decide to go an hour early to check out the bikes before selling tickets with him. I make it through the snow and into the parking garage. Once inside the hall, I instantly get that feeling like, you dumb ass you knew it would be lame like this. I only found two interesting bikes that I have not seen before to ponder over. Then came the big show, some rinky dink dance show by girls barely dressed. I had to laugh, I wonder what these girls must be thinking. It is one thing to have some fancy technical routine that takes skill, but this show... oh my, some girls went this way, some that way, some fell, but one thing they all thought was that they were the cats ass. After laughing at the show I found my friend and we sold some tickets, didn't have too much luck because the attendance kind of sucked. In the end it was a nice afternoon out socializing.
